Rachel Teas, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Teas with Students    Mrs. Teas

Greetings from Brown Academy, where I am honored and blessed to serve as assistant principal!  I feel very fortunate to serve here at Brown and work hard to develop relationships with students and parents which are imperative to the success of our school.

I am a native of the Chattanooga area.  I grew up in South Pittsburg, TN and graduated from South Pittsburg High School.  I continued my education at Carson-Newman University where I earned a B.S. in Elementary Education.  I began my first teaching job in 1993 as the music teacher at South Pittsburg Elementary School but quickly transitioned to a classroom teacher. During this time, I also earned a M.S. in Educational Leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University.  I spent 14 years teaching in my hometown school before my family moved to Hamilton County.  Since 2007, I have served as a teacher and instructional coach at Falling Water Elementary, Nolan Elementary, and East Ridge Elementary.

I became the assistant principal at Brown Academy in 2019.  I strive to know each student by name so they feel loved and important daily.  I want you to know I will encourage and support them academically and socially.  I also support teachers in their work to provide an engaging and challenging education to our students.  Personally, I believe ALL children can learn and should have access to the BEST education possible.

At Brown Academy, our focus in INNOVATION FOR ALL!  Our goal is to help our students become innovators ready to face a future with unlimited possibilities.  We are excited your child and family will be a part of this with us!
